The Outstanding Service Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the Cairn Terrier Club of Canada and / or the health, well-being and advancement of our beloved breed.
Criteria for this award include the following:
* A regular member in good standing
* Active membership for 10 or more years
* Has made significant contributions to the club or breed
* Has not been previously received the award
Clubs like ours run entirely on volunteer service and as with most clubs there are unique individuals who contribute well above and beyond the average. The outstanding service award is our way to acknowledge and thank these special individuals who do so much to help make the club a success.
This award was inaugurated in 1997 and revised in 2004 and again in 2023. Unfortunately the program lapsed between 2007 and 2023. In 2023 it was re-instituted during our 50th anniversary year; 9 individuals were presented with the award at the 2023 National Specialty banquet in recognition that the award had gone unpresented for many years. The award program is now intended to recognize one individual annually, while recognizing that there are often multiple worthy individuals.
Recipients receive a bronze Cairn Head study pin.
